Mastercard Foundation/Amref International University Learning for Life Postgraduate Scholarship 2025/2026 (Fully-funded)

Applications are now open for the Amref International University (AMIU) and Mastercard Foundation Learning for Life (L4L) Postgraduate Scholarship 2025/2026. This scholarship is available to qualified candidates enrolling in postgraduate programs at AMIU’s School of Public Health and is fully funded.

Amref International University focuses on developing healthcare professionals who can address Africa’s growing health challenges. Through this scholarship, successful applicants will gain specialized skills and be part of a network of professionals equipped to improve health systems.

Available Postgraduate Programs

Applicants can pursue one of the following master’s degree programs:

  • Master of Public Health (Applied Epidemiology)
  • Master of Science in Health Systems Management
  • Master of Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights and Policy

Who Can Apply?

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Meet the academic entry requirements for the selected postgraduate program at AMIU
  • Be ready to enroll in May 2025
  • Hold citizenship and residency in Kenya or Zambia
  • Be 35 years or younger at the time of application (exceptions may be made for young women, displaced persons, individuals with disabilities, unemployed candidates, and those from disadvantaged backgrounds)

Application Requirements

Before applying for the scholarship, applicants must have an admission letter from Amref International University. The following documents must be uploaded through the online application portal:

  • Motivation letter (500 words)
  • Certified copies of academic certificates and transcripts
  • 1,000-word research project concept
  • Two reference letters (academic or professional)
  • Copy of national ID or passport
  • Passport-size photograph (JPG, PNG, or TIFF format)
  • Updated CV
  • Evidence of socio-economic disadvantage (e.g., a letter from a community authority)
  • Refugee ID or displacement verification document (if applicable)
  • Disability certification (if applicable)
