Applications are now open for the French Embassy in Ghana Masters Scholarship for the academic years 2025-2026. As part of an ongoing initiative to strengthen academic cooperation and student mobility between France and Ghana, the French Embassy in Ghana is offering fully-funded scholarships to Ghanaian students pursuing Master’s studies on a merit and needs basis.
In France, Master’s programs typically last two years (M1 and M2). Eligible fields of study include STEM, Mathematics, ICST, Health, Environment and Sustainable Development, Archaeology and Heritage Studies, Cultural and Creative Industries, Agriculture and Food Industry, and French as a Foreign Language (FLE), with French proficiency required only for FLE programs.
Scholarship Coverage
- If admitted at the M1 level, the scholarship covers two academic years.
- If admitted directly into M2, it provides funding for one academic year.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
• Hold Ghanaian nationality and reside in Ghana.
• Be under 30 years old.
• Possess a Bachelor’s degree.
• Have completed National Service.
• Be prioritized if holding a First Class or Second-Class Upper.
• Demonstrate full commitment to studying in France during the academic years 2025-2026 (and 2026-2027 for a full master’s program, covering M1 and M2).
• Note: French language proficiency is not required except for Masters in FLE.
Application Process
Submit your complete application as a single PDF file via email. The file should be named using the format:
Name-Surname_2025_Master.pdf
and the email subject should include:
Name-Surname-2025-Master.
Applicants will receive an acknowledgment of receipt via email upon submission.
Your application package must include:
• A copy of your international passport data page (valid for at least two years).
• A recommendation letter from your university (optional but strongly recommended).
• A typed application form (downloadable from the designated source).
• A one-page cover letter detailing your motivation and how the course will support your career development.
• Copies of your full undergraduate transcript (ideally consolidated into one or two documents).
• An admission letter from a French university for a master’s degree.
• A detailed curriculum vitae (CV) not exceeding three pages.
• Financial documentation (such as a certificate of scholarship for studies in progress, pay slips, or bank statements for you or your parents).
