Central South University (CSU) in China is currently welcoming applications for the 2025 Silk Road Scholarship Program, offering full financial support to international students wishing to pursue master’s or doctoral degrees.
Students from countries such as Nigeria, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Yemen, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Morocco, Turkmenistan, and Zambia are encouraged to apply, particularly those interested in leading fields like Computer Science, Civil Engineering, and Geological Resources.
Scholarship Coverage
The award fully covers tuition fees, provides on-campus housing, pays for medical insurance, and offers a monthly living stipend (CNY 3,000 for master’s students and CNY 3,500 for doctoral students). This opportunity also provides access to China’s dynamic educational and technological environment.

Who is Eligible
- Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with strong academic achievements.
- Candidates must be younger than 35 years for master’s programs and younger than 40 years for doctoral programs.
- Applicants should maintain good health, a clean legal record, and should not already hold another scholarship.
- Language proficiency requirements:
- For Chinese-taught programs: HSK 4 certification with a score above 260.
- For English-taught programs: A minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or TOEFL score of 85.
- Exemptions are available for native speakers or graduates from English- or Chinese-taught universities.
Important Dates
The scholarship application period is open until May 20, 2025. Applicants must submit their materials via the CSU online system and the CSC portal. After an initial review, shortlisted candidates will be required to pay application fees. Admission decisions will be announced by July 31, 2025. Enrollment at CSU will commence in early September 2025, with the specific date outlined in the official admission notice.
