The Afya na Haki (Ahaki) Institute is now accepting applications for the Litigating Reproductive Justice in Africa (LIRA) Fellowship 2026. This fellowship is an outstanding opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking work in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) while building your expertise in research, litigation, and advocacy.
Fellowship Sponsorship Package
Selected fellows will engage in a full-time, in-person fellowship at Ahaki beginning in January 2026, with placements lasting 6–12 months.
The fellowship offers:
- Direct involvement in Ahaki’s ongoing SRHR programs.
- Mentorship and collaboration with African experts, practitioners, and activists.
- Hands-on experience in SRHR research, litigation, advocacy, and capacity-building.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold at least a Master’s degree in law, public health, social sciences, gender studies, or human rights.
- Demonstrate experience in research, litigation, or capacity enhancement in SRHR.
- Possess project management and implementation skills (preferred but not mandatory).
- Fluency in English and/or French is highly encouraged, reflecting the fellowship’s focus on both Anglophone and Francophone Africa.
